The Bengaluru police detained around 120 people protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act. At lunchtime, the police got a nearby hotel to serve the protesters tomato rice

Bangalore city police was showered with praises for showing their humane side while detaining people protesting against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act. On Thursday, when thousands protested in heart of the city, the police took action by detaining several of them.

Around 120 detainees were taken to Mangala Kalayana Mantapa — a wedding hall — in Kormangala by the police. By the time protesters were taken to the marriage hall, it was 1:30pm.

Realising it was lunch time, the police immediately arranged for tomato rice to feed protesters. A hotel nearby was tasked with preparing and delivering the lunch to the marriage hall.

Several senior citizens, among those detained, were diabetic and complained of low sugar. The police arranged glucose powder for the diabetics
